How To Have The Most Productive Day Ever

How great does it feel to have a productive day? To get to the end of the day and be all like ‘yeah, I did it, I did all the errands!’. It feels better than marathoning a tv show and eating junk food and getting to the end of weekend and questioning everything. We all have our good days and the days we feel ready to conquer the world (or at least just the housework) and they always feel so damn good. 

These are a few things I find help when trying to achieve just about anything and everything…

1) Wake up early

I am not a morning person and I do not understand what people normally do pre 11am, and it’s painful getting up early, I know! I’m not talking about 5am here, even just 9am will do. Get up and shower and get dressed, the earlier you get up the more you fit into your day and the less you have to do on a later date!

2) Eat breakfast

Without sounding cliche, breakfast really is the most important meal. You don’t need to spend hours preparing and tidying up afterwards, even just a bowl of cereal will give you enough energy to start your day. But if you do want to get creative with breakfast then why not (Buzzfeed put together this super cool list of ideas for breakfast!). Eating breakfast will also help with not snacking in the morning.

3) Make a to-do list

Whenever I have a day off, being the workaholic I am, I always put together a to-do list, even if it’s just 3 points long. I think we can all agree at how satisfying it is to tick off things on a list. You can even put little things on there to begin with like ‘shower’, ‘get dressed’, even ticking those of will make you feel well on your way to conquering the world! No but seriously, make a list, you won’t forget anything, you have something to refer back to and they are just so damn good for productivity.

4) Drink plenty of water

I’m not saying don’t drink other stuff, I’m just saying water is great and healthy and will keep you going throughout the entire day, just a lil bit every now and then is great and your skin and bones and body will love you for it. 

5) Go outside

Go for a walk or to the gym or to the park or to town or run errands, or to all of the places I just listed. Get outside and enjoy this sunshine, spring, summer thing that’s currently taking place before it disappears again. It feels so much better to get out and about rather than being home all day.

6) Treat yourself


When it comes to the end of the day and you realise you’ve done just about everything you needed to and you’re well on your way to world domination, treat yourself. To good food or a hot bath or time to scroll through Instagram or Tumblr, or both. It’s so important to praise yourself and celebrate your little victories, even if you did only remember to buy eggs or visit the post office. You deserve to treat yourself too!
